I love how easy to turn it on.

I love how easy it is to turn it on. Just a touch. Or remote. The controls are on the bottom so I don't have to climb up on the loveseat to run it like my old one. Cheaper to run too. More quiet running.

Overall a good unit, just not that quiet

This was installed in my apartment when my old ac unit died. Kind of perplexed at getting a unit that is BARELY enough BTUs to cool the square footage of my apartment, but I can't complain that they replaced a 20 year old wall ac with an analog dial for temp control with this much nicer unit. I think the best way to go over this unit is with a pros and cons list. As you will see from my cons section, there is just a musty smell almost all the time when the fan is on and the compressor is off. This has had the smell ever since it was installed brand new a few weeks ago. I have put the insulating foam on the sides to block any external air coming in, the fresh air vent is closed to try to get the humidity level down, but nothing seems to help. After it was installed, I made sure everything was good (tilted enough to let water drain towards outside, air gaps sealed up good) but nothing seems to help. If only the fan would turn off the same time the compressor turns off and doesn't do its cycling every 10 minutes, that would help with the smell and the humidity. Pros: -Can cool a 470sqft apartment pretty decently without having to run all the time (unit is in bedroom at back of apartment and with help from a fan to move air to the living room at the front of the apartment). -SmartHQ is nice to be able to remotely turn the unit on/off, set temp, and create schedules for the ac. Scheduling is an absolute amazing thing (set temp to 78F when not at home, 70F when home, and 68F at night for sleeping). -Actual digital readout for setting temperature (nice to be able to set to a specific temp) -The capacitive touch makes it feel very modern and sleek. -Eco mode is nice to have the fan turn off when not cooling so it isn't blowing humid air around after the compressor turns off. Cons: -Not quiet. With this installed in the wall in my bedroom, I have to wear my AirPods Pro with the noise cancellation on so that the fan noise doesn't keep me up. Even on low fan speed, it is not quiet (measured at about 65db from about 4' away where my head is when I sleep. 65db is right between a normal conversation volume and a vacuum cleaner for noise level). With the layout of the bedroom, I can't get my bed any farther away from the AC unit. -Fan doesn't turn off right away when compressor turns off. The fan will continue to run for about 3 minutes in Eco mode when the compressor turns off. You can always tell when the compressor turns off because you can start to smell the mustyness from the moisture that is on the coils(even when the unit was brand new it about 2 weeks ago it had this smell). It will also turn the fan on for 1-3 minutes ever 10 minutes in Eco mode to "circulate" air (and mustyness), so it is 1-3 minutes of loud fan while it circulates air. -Humidity is kind of a problem. It normally sits at between 60% and 65% humidity in my bedroom where the ac is. Even with a fan in my bedroom door to push air down the hallway to the living room to get the cool air moved around, the humidity is always just high in the bedroom. The rest of the apartment is around 50%-55%. I tried running it in Dry mode, but that really doesn't do anything to help other than just have the compressor run all the time and the fan stay on low speed. I may have spent a lot of time writing out the cons more than the pros, but I just wanted to make sure for the cons that there were good information on them and why I consider them cons. If I would have to weigh pros to cons, I would say that overall this AC is 75% pro and 25% con.
